AFRICAN EDUCATION INITIATIVE:

Models involved in Models Care charity – African Education Initiative are much more than just beautiful faces. Their efforts to enhance the educational environment in schools in West Africa and to protect orphans prove extraordinary generosity and character.


The Non Profit was created in 2007 as a result of a serendipitous meeting in Paris during the Fashion week of two models, Holly Bartle and Elise Vogel, after Elise came back from Togo where she taught as a first grade teacher. The two later shared an apartment in New York, and they worked on getting their 501c 3 to become a legal New York State charity. The main objective of African Education Initiative is to take action for underprivileged children in West Africa, by helping to create the opportunities their environment cannot offer and help them set their sights higher. AEI seeks to empower the children with the deserved knowledge and strong sense of self esteem, a solid education can provide. AEI raises funds to build public libraries and classrooms, provide textbooks to schools, and feed and provide medical supplies to orphans… and also put smiles on the children’s faces with art programs and games.
